Great Egret

You caught me staring, but I caught you staring back. -unknown
A hot summer night a few weeks back I packed my camera and headed to the beach for the sunset as I often do. It had been storming all day but I was certain it would clear up. As I ventured to the end of Pier 60 for that perfect view of the Gulf I couldn’t help but notice this Great Egret hawking a fisherman waiting for him to pull up a fish.
Naturally, I started snapping away because the sun was starting to peek through the storm clouds right behind him and the great egret wasn’t paying much attention to me . . . until that perfect moment when he caught me snapping away and I caught him staring right back!
